Realme U1 vs Realme 2 Pro – What’s the Difference?
Realme has launched its new smartphone Realme U1(Review) in India this week. This is the first phone in the company’s U series. The company has made its first phone of the U series under the focused on photography. On the other hand the Realme 2 Pro (Review) is focused on performance, and features the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 AIE SoC with up to 8GB of RAM. Realme U1 is the world’s first phone that works on the Helio P70 chipset.
This smartphone will be available for sale exclusively on E-commerce website Amazon starting 12 noon on December 5. Apart from this, the company will also make available the Realme U1 at retail shops to hold the offline market. Realme has changed its logo design during the launch of the U1. The new logo is designed by Chief designer Fddie Opara.
We’ve decided to compare the brand new Realme U1 with the Realme 2 Pro, which is a top premium handset from the company so far. In this article, we compare the Realme U1 and the Realme 2 Pro on all aspects, from price to design to specifications to highlight the differences.
Realme U1 vs Realme 2 Pro – Price in India:
The Realme U1 starting price in India at Rs. 11,999 for Variant of the 3GB RAM/ 32GB inbuilt storage, and Its top variant comes in the price rang of Rs. 14,499 for the 4GB RAM/ 64GB inbuilt storage. This smartphone will go sale on December 4 for Prime users and starting 12 noon on December 5 for all Amazon users.
On the other hand, if we talk about the pricing tag of Realme 2 Pro, It comes with a price tag of Rs. 13,990 for the 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage model, while other models are also available with 6GB RAM/ 64GB storage and the 8GB RAM/ 128GB storage variants of the Realme 2 Pro at Rs. 15,990 and Rs. 17,990, respectively, with similar specifications. The Realme 2 Pro is exclusively available via E-Commerce website Flipkart.
Realme U1 vs Realme 2 Pro – Display:
Realme U1 sports a 6.3-inch full HD+ display with 2340×1080 pixels resolution, 409 ppi and aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The phone comes with water drop notch design which gives it a sleek look, with slim edges. It also bears 2.5D curved glass, with protection of Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
The Realme 2 Pro also has a similar 6.3-inch display with notch design & 19.5:9 aspect ratio. Display resolution is also same with Realme U1 which is 2340 x 1080 pixels. It also come with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.
Realme U1 vs Realme 2 Pro – Processor/Storage:
Realme U1 is the world’s first phone that works on the MediaTek Helio P70 SoC processor & this is the main highlighting feature of this. It comes with 3GB RAM/ 32GB inbuilt storage & 4GB RAM/ 64GB inbuilt storage options which is expendable up to 256GB via microSD card (dedicated slot). For excellent visual experience, Realme U1 features Mali-G72 MP3 Graphics that keeps the device run smoothly.
Coming towards the Realme 2 Pro, it runs an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 AIE SoC, along with Adreno 512 GPU and 4GB, 6GB, and 8GB RAM options. It has the inbuilt storage options of 64GB and 128GB that both can be expended up to 256GB via microSD card (dedicated slot).
Realme U1 vs Realme 2 Pro – Cameras:
Realme U1 sports a dual rear camera setup, with the combination of 13-megapixel primary sensor & a f/2.2 aperture, and 2-megapixel secondary sensor and a f/2.4 aperture along with a LED flash. On the front it coupled with 25 MP single Selfie Camera. It further comes with a combination of advanced camera settings such as Exposure compensation, ISO control, Auto Flash, Digital Zoom, Face detection, Touch to focus, and Shooting Modes like Continuous Shooting and High Dynamic Range mode (HDR).

Under the hood The Realme U1 packs a 3,500 mAh Non-removable battery, and comes coupled with a 10W charger. The Realme 2 Pro also has the same battery capacity of 3,500 mAh that promises a long power backup for the users but sadly both phones do not have the fast charging support.
Realme U1 vs Realme 2 Pro – Connectivity Options:
In terms of connectivity options, the Realme U1 offers 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth v4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, GPS/ A-GPS, a Micro-USB port with OTG functionality, 3.5mm headphone jack, and FM radio. Realme 2 Pro also has the similar connectivity options, except for FM radio.
The Realme U1 bears an ambient light sensor, accelerometer, digital compass, gyroscope, and proximity sensor. The Realme 2 Pro has identical sensors. Both bear fingerprint sensors on the rear panel, apart from supporting face unlock. While the Realme U1 measures 157x74x8mm and weighs 168 grams, the Realme 2 Pro measures 156.7×74.0x8.5mm and weighs 174 grams.
Realme U1 vs Realme 2 Pro – Design
In the terms of design area both are phones have a lot of similarities. Both the Realme U1 and Realme 2 Pro cover with plastic bodies. Both the Realme U1 and the Realme 2 Pro offer a similar display configuration of 6.3-inch dewdrop display & the resolution of 1080p FHD+ (2340×1080 pixels). This means you can expect the same full-screen, immersive displays from both the phones.
Visually, both smartphones are very similar looking, both smartphones have their fingerprint sensors on the back panel & both are house with dual rear camera setups. Both also feature their 3.5mm headphone jack, Micro-USB port. Design part is very close from each others like the power button is on the right, and the volume buttons on the left, on both devices.
The dual-SIM trays fixed on the left panel in both smartphones, which also feature the Micro SD card slots. The droplet-style notch on the phones offer a bigger screen real estate and are much less intrusive than regular notches. On the top notch houses a camera sensor, ambient light and proximity sensors and an earpiece.
