Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) with quad-cameras to launch on November 20, Price to Be Around Rs. 35,000
The world’s 1st quad-camera smartphone Samsung galaxy A9 (2018) is all set to arrive in India on November 20. Samsung is sending out media invites for the Galaxy A9 (2018) launch in India. Launch event will be live on Tuesday, November 20 in Delhi and the event will kick off at 12:00PM. Last month in October the Galaxy A9 (2018) was unveiled at an event in Kuala Lumpur with a price tag of 599 euros (approx Rs 51,300). The main highlighting feature of Galaxy A9 is the world first smartphone which plays with four rear camera sensors. Another highlight of the Galaxy A9 (2018) is its Infinity Display, with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio.

There is no word yet on what the price tag this smartphone will be in India, but we do expect it to fall well below Rs 50,000 but according to reports of IANS news agency in India pricing will be be around Rs. 35,000. Some other leak hinted earlier this month suggest the device could come at a price of Rs 39,999. E-commerce website Flipkart & Amazon India have also created a “landing page” & “Notify Me” page for the Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018), that indicates that this smartphone selling system will be exclusive to the e-commerce platforms in India.

Samsung galaxy A9 (2018) powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC with four cores clocked at 2.2GHz and four cores clocked at 1.8GHz. This is paired with either 6GB or 8GB RAM options. Both memory options will offer 128GB of internal storage with support for expandability up to 512GB via microSD card. It’s a dual-SIM (Nano) smartphone & runs on Android version 8.0 Oreo with Samsung Experience UI skin on top. As mentioned above, The main highlighting feature of Galaxy A9 is quad-camera sensors setup at the back.
Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) sports a 24 Megapixel main sensor with f/1.7 aperture, an 8 Megapixel ultra-wide sensor with f/2.4 aperture, a 10 Megapixel telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom and a 5-megapixel depth camera with an f/2.2 aperture. Apart from the highlighting feature of quad-camera Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) comes with a 6.3-inch AMOLED display with 2220×1080 pixels resolution, and 18.5:9 aspect ratio. The device comes with a 2.5D curved glass on the front and back that sandwiches a metal frame.
In terms of security, The device supports facial recognition feature & also has a side fingerprint sensor as well as Bixby assistant and Samsung Pay integration. Besides, it houses a 3,800mAh battery that supports fast charging via USB Type-C. It also comes with a gradient design language on the back panel, which is unlike past Samsung devices and closer to phones like the Honor 10 and Huawei P20. This gradient design was announced in Bubble Pink, Lemonade Blue and Caviar Black last month, but we will have to wait and see if all three variants will be coming to India.
On the other connectivity options, the handset has 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (dual band, 2.4GHz and 5GHz), Bluetooth v5.0, NFC, and a 3.5mm audio jack. Sensors on board include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, magnetometer, proximity sensor, and an RGB light sensor.
